A Brave New World
January 21st 2009 05:38
How much can one man do? The world has put its trust in Barak Obama, and now that he's the 44th President on the United States of America, the pressure on him will be immense.
I know I felt, the day he was elected, that a whole new world had opened up, a world where anything was possible, even peace. Then the news showed footage of Iraq, Afganistan, Zimbabwe, and so on and on and on.
Obama smiled and spoke ever so nicely, and with such strong authority and it seemed he would fix it all once he became the President. Then the world economy collapsed, Bush and his people threw money in and I wondered if Obama could fix this one.
But he's there now, he's the man, and my god, he'll do a better job that Bush ever did.
This is the first time ever I wished I was American instead of being Australian. I'me ready for change! Go Barak!
