40 is the new 20!

There is much talk now about age as the baby boomers come into retirement there is the realization that turning 50, or 60 or even 70 is not a death sentence and we do not need to pull up our rocking chair on the front porch and sit there waiting for the last days; No, those days are gone. Today we are seeing a greater desire to live a full life, looking within ourselves for the light and strength that drives us.
I did not realize it until last year when I turned 40. I suddenly realized I was 40 years old, I had reached a milestone yet I didn't feel old. I felt different more than anything. I suddenly felt capable of anything, I felt more confident and mature - for lack of a better word. Things I may not have tried in years past suddenly didn't seem all that big of a deal. Who was going to tell me I couldn't dress like I was 20, spend the day at the book store in the café or watch MTV? I realized my life was not over, it was just beginning. I had spent 40 years learning how to live, working, raising my kids and listening to what the world was tz2ellin gem to do, well now it was MY turn. I felt alive again, I was and am proud to tell people I am over 40 now and it's great. I am free, I am alive and I look forward to many years to come.
I encourage anyone who over 40 get off the rocking chair and take on the world. We have a lot to teach these kids!!!
