Gold is even safer than the banks. In times of trouble, we tend to buy gold, buy gold coins, buy gold bullion. If the system goes bung, gold still has value. If we have gold coins, they have an interest value too. Each coin is a little bit of history.
I remember as a kid spending hours looking through a coin collection, lots of coins, some weathered old coins that had been around for centuries, some shiny gold coins that had never been out much. They were all fascinating to me as a kid.
Now, my money is in the bank, and it isn’t as much fun to play with. I play with the things I buy with the money instead. But if I was in a position to invest some money, I would seriously consider getting myself some lovely, lovely gold.
There are many things to invest in, but none of them look as good as gold!

Isn’t that the cutest thing! They come in a variety of different weights/sizes. I’d love to have a whole family of these guys to play with. Sooo cute!
Lots of different countries have different coins to invest in/play with. The Australian gold coin depicts a gold nugget. Australia is famous for its gold. Another one I’d like to invest in – not as cute as China’s panda, but historically interesting.
I suspect investing is more serious than that, but I still think the idea of investing in gold is exciting and fun.
If you invest in gold, you're investing in something you can wear, and it won't go out of fashion!
