Obama's the man!

Does everybody else feel like things look better now? Even with the current economic woes, I still feel like it's all going to be good.
I may be a silly Pollyanna, but I don't care. Obama is the most impressive leader I've ever seen, and I'm going to believe in him.
Of course, the fact that I live in rural South Australia, and I don't have any real connection with the US of A is irrelevant. It just feels like the world as taken a turn for the better.
I notice SL is still spouting bile, but I'm not going there again, it's like a den of mad deaf and blind people.
My life seems untouched by economic gloom - I know my superannuation has taken a dive, but I'm still twenty years off retirement age, so I don't care about that. I know that the price of petrol has gone down, and our home loan rate will go down again tomorrow, so it's looking OK.
Of course, the price of everything else is still going up, but if I can consume cleverly, I can save. I just need to get everyone else in the family playing the same game!
I backed my brother's harness racing horse on Saturday night and it won, so I was able to back his other horse today and have change left. This one didn't win today, but I didn't really think she would anyway, first race up from a spell. I don't mind losing if the money wasn't really mine anyway - that's how I feel about gambling winnings. It's not real money.
My mum told me today my brother is thinking of buying another horse in New Zealand. If I had his sort of money, I don't think I'd spend it on horses! But I'll never have his sort of money. A man's gotta have a hobby, and harness racing is in our blood. Good luck to him.
