Time of the Werewolf soon?
May 10th 2009 05:43
I began writing a new piece of fiction last Friday night, which, with some input from a friend is looking like it may end up being a novel about Werewolves.
My question is, should I not bother and jump on the Vampire and or Zombie bandwagon which is rampaging through our world at the moment, or should I go with the way the story is looking like at the moment?
I'm a dog person, I know dogs, and I feel by the time I finish this piece, the world might be ready for "Wolves at the Door, with knives" (working title I thought of a split second before I wrote it just then).
The story started with a line I overheard at the Adelaide Central Market when I was there last Friday, that intrigued and fascinated me. It hooked me so much I told my mum about it later that day, and I also told my friend later Friday night. We were at our favourite hotel in Gawler, waiting to pick our sons up, and I wrote the line out. Ally took over the paper and wrote her own really weird interpretation of how the story could go.
It went somewhere very dark, and I'm wondering about Ally a bit darkly now, but still... I think she's OK!
My story, which I continued working on, is completely different, and there are dogs belonging to the main character. Ally said Werewolves, and I can't get werewolves out of my head.
So, What do you think? Run with the werewolves? Try zombies and or vampires? Stop thinking about it and go back to thinking and writing about 'nice' things?

It was just the look when she wrote about knives and blood and so on. I'm sure she's OK.
Werewolves you say. OK. I have to do more on my WIP, but the other will stay in the back of my mind.
The dogs have been barking a lot today, and tonight I know the moon will talk to any who care to listen.
